UAAP HS Basketball: FEU-D beats Adamson to stay on top; NUNS dominates UST

Far Eastern University-Diliman defeated Adamson University, 84-65, to remain on top of the UAAP Season 88 standings on Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Cabs Cabonilas once again led the Baby Tamaraws with 19 points and 12 rebounds, along with seven assists, four steals, and two blocks, as FEU-D improved to 8-1. Marc Burgos and Sam Hall added 18 and 11 points, respectively.

Jarl Artango paced the Baby Falcons with 13 points.

NUNS def. UST, 92-72

National University Nazareth School dominated University of Santo Tomas, 92-72, to improve to 7-2.

Shaun Lucido led the Bullpups with 16 points, while Kurl Figueroa added 13. Moussa Diakite registered a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds.

Joaquin Ludovice scored 17 points, while Jetlee Melano added 14 for the Tiger Cubs, who slipped to 3-6.

DLSZ def. UPIS, 83-47

De La Salle Santiago Zobel bounced back at the expense of University of the Philippines Integrated School, 83-47.

Nino Ferrer finished with 12 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal to lead the Junior Archers. Champ Arejola and Maco Dabao chipped in 11 points apiece as DLSZ improved to 4-5.

UPIS was limited to just 20 points in the second half, 10 in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth, after trailing 40-27 at halftime. Jhustin Hallare, Bruce Tubongbanua, and Zandro Lugatiman scored 10 points each as UPIS remained winless.

Ateneo def. UE, 67-58

Ateneo de Manila University defeated University of the East, 67-58, to bounce back from last week’s loss to NUNS.

Jude Eriobu led the Blue Eagles with 14 points and 22 rebounds. Jay M. Leal, Noah Banal, and Audwyn Tamayo contributed 12 points apiece.

Louie Bual and Jamal Diaz scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Junior Warriors.

Ateneo improved to 7-2, while UE fell to 3-6.

UST Girls def. Ateneo Girls, 146-36

The UST girls’ team improved to 3-1 after a dominant 146-36 victory over the winless Ateneo side — a 110-point blowout.

Koukou Talla posted 27 points and 14 rebounds for UST. Janice Oczon had 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Riri Perez tallied 16 points and 11 boards. Yuyi Capinpin also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Tyler Templo led the Blue Eagles with 18 points.
