Laguna rules NBTC South Luzon Regional Championships
Laguna’s AG Sports Apparel captured the 2026 NBTC South Luzon Regional Championships title after edging Cavite’s GM Botor x Troops Hoops, 81-80, in the finals on Saturday at the Villar Coliseum.
Zedrick Castillo delivered 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals to earn Most Outstanding Player honors, stepping up in place of injured guard Mark Clarence Piana.
Prince Shey Palma paced the Laguna squad with 16 points and five rebounds, while Ryoma Clyde Sarno posted a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double. Wham Keifer Duenas added 10 points in the narrow victory.
Jancarl Gadlan led GM Botor x Troops Hoops with 18 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, while Mythical Team selection Tristan James Catucod finished with 19 points, four rebounds, and four steals.
Both finalists secured berths to the National Finals, along with regional wildcard teams Batang Tiaong of Quezon and CLB Mustangs of Batangas.
Joining Castillo and Catucod on the Mythical Team were Jimboy Cambal (Batang Tiaong), Nikko Rosales (CLB Mustangs), and Zedrick Sabalza (Holy Trinity Binangonan).
