PBA: Terrafirma dominates Titan Ultra to open Commissioner’s Cup
The Terrafirma Dyip opened its campaign in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a dominant 112-82 victory over Titan Ultra Giant Risers on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Terrafirma held a 49-40 lead at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter, outscoring Titan Ultra, 37-22, to build an 82-69 cushion heading into the final period.
The Dyip continued their onslaught in the fourth quarter, stretching the advantage to as much as 33 points, 99-66, with nine minutes remaining after a pair of free throws from Paolo Hernandez.
Terrafirma maintained control the rest of the way to secure the opening-day win.
Ali Mubashar led the Dyip with 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Jerrick Ahanmisi paced the local scorers with 26 points, seven assists, five steals, and one rebound.
The loss spoiled a strong showing from Titan Ultra’s Earl Gilmore, who posted 33 points and 13 rebounds, while Joshua Munzon added 32 points for the Giant Risers.
