NBA: Danny Green weighs in on breaking records vs winning titles
Bam Adebayo recently erupted for an 83-point outing in Miami Heat's game against the Washington Wizards, placing his name among the greatest single-game scoring displays in NBA history.
The outing put Adebayo at No. 2 on the league’s all-time single-game scoring list, behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game, and ahead of Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance in 2006.
But for Danny Green, a three-time NBA champion, what matters more: historic records or winning titles?
“I think it's (winning titles) more important than records for me,” Green told GMA News Online on Friday during his visit to the Philippines.
“I mean, records are cool. They're there for a reason. They’re meant to be broken.”
Still, Green credited Adebayo for his new feat.
“I don't think anybody thought that record would ever be broken, especially by who it was. But I give a lot of credit to Bam. He went out there and he balled out.”
Green is in Manila this weekend for a series of partner engagements.
