Gilas Pilipinas Women fall to South Korea to remain winless in FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas Women absorbed yet another big loss in the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament after falling to South Korea, 105-74, on Sunday in France.

The loss pushed the Filipinas to the brink of elimination as they dropped to a winless 0-4 win-loss record in Tournament D while the Koreans improved to 3-1.

Kacey Dela Rosa exploded for a double-double effort of 26 points and nine rebounds laced with one assist while Janine Pontejos chipped in 13 markers and two dimes in the losing effort.

The Koreans cruised to a comfortable 55-33 lead after torching the Philippines with 27 points in the second quarter for a 22-point halftime lead.

The world No. 15 Koreans then never looked back with Isaem Choi hitting a three-pointer to bring her side to a much comfortable 99-66 cushion late in the fourth period before Yooling Kang made it a 105-72 lead with her own triple basket with 1:26 to go.

Leeseul Kang led Korea with 24 points, three rebounds, and three steals while Choi and Haeran Lee chipped in 15 markers each.
