PVL: Tubino, Tubu lift Farm Fresh to crucial win vs undermanned Creamline
Royse Tubino and Trisha Tubu came to the rescue as Farm Fresh carved out a 25-16, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23 win against Creamline to solidify its Top 4 bid in the 2026 PVL Open Conference on Tuesday at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex.
Tubino made up for costly errors down the stretch, delivering the final blow as the Foxies improved to 4-4 to bolster their chances of clinching a ticket to the qualifying round.
Creamline, which was missing the pair of Jema Galanza and Bernadeth Pons, absorbed its second loss in a row to go 5-3.
Tubu top-scored with 22 points while Tubino flirted with a triple-double outing of 18 markers, 13 receptions, and eight digs. Riri Meneses chipped in 10 points highlighted by six blocks while Ces Molina chipped in eight markers and 13 receptions.
Before her heroics, Tubino made two crucial attack infractions that allowed the Cool Smashers to take a 23-22 lead in Set 4 and threaten to drag the Foxies to a deciding frame.
But after a Dij Rodriguez service error that paved the way for a 23-all deadlock, Tubino showed up and unloaded back-to-back kills that set the stage for the four-set romp.
Without their two gunners, Creamline leaned on Tots Carlos, who poured in 18 points and 13 receptions. Alyssa Valdez posted 14 markers and 11 digs while Jeanette Panaga chipped in 10 points.
In the first game, streaking Akari eked out a 25-23, 25-23, 14-25, 26-24 win over Galeries for its fifth consecutive win.
Several stars rose for the Chargers with the tandem of Ced Domingo and Fifi Sharma shining with four blocks each to finish with 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Eli Soyud chimed in with 12 markers.
The Chargers improved to 5-3 and moved closer to a qualifying round berth while the Highrisers fell to a 2-6 card.
