BOOM Esports regains PKL crown after beating Team Flash in Spring 2026 finals
BOOM Esports reclaimed the Philippines Kings League (PKL) throne after pulling off a 4-2 win against Team Flash in the 2026 Spring Season grand finals on Sunday at the Gateway Mall 2.
The victory secured BOOM Esports its second PKL title. The club previously reigned supreme during the league’s inaugural Spring Season last year, then finished as a runner-up in the 2025 Fall Season after falling to Blacklist International.
Their latest title run, however, did not come without some adversity.
After finishing second in the preliminary phase with an 8–1 record behind top-seeded and unbeaten Blacklist International (9–0), BOOM Esports suffered a setback in the upper bracket semifinals after losing to Team Flash, 1-4.
The loss sent them down to the lower bracket, where every match is a must-win with a single loss meaning elimination.
But BOOM Esports braved through it after pulling off a 4-1 win over TNT. They then eked out a similar 4-1 victory over reigning champion Blacklist International to oust the latter and book a grand finals seat.
In their rematch against Team Flash, BOOM Esports secured the revenge win, finishing it off in six games to claim their second title behind Finals MVP Karl "Karlll" Bautista.
BOOM Esports, alongside Team Flash and Blacklist International, will now represent the Philippines in the Esports World Cup in July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
