Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 teams advance to FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup quarterfinals

Both the Gilas Pilipinas men’s and women’s 3x3 teams have secured spots in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore.

The men’s squad, composed of Jerick Ahanmisi, Ralph Cu, Sean Alter, and Chris Koon, fell short in their opening game against Mongolia in the main draw, 19–21, but rebounded strongly with a 21–13 victory over Chinese Taipei to clinch a quarterfinal berth. They are set to face South Korea on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the women’s team, made up of Cheska Apag, Afril Bernardino, Mikka Cacho, and Kacey dela Rosa, opened their campaign with a 19–10 win over Tonga before bowing to Australia, 10–21. Despite the loss, they also advanced to the quarterfinals and will take on Mongolia on Sunday.
