Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women advance to FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup finals, secure first podium finish

The Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 women’s team advanced to the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup finals on Sunday in Singapore, securing the program’s first podium finish in tournament history.

The Philippines opened its knockout-stage run with a 15–12 victory over Mongolia in the quarterfinals, before edging Japan, 21–19, in a tightly contested semifinal.

Kacey Dela Rosa led the nationals with 10 points in the semifinals, while Afril Bernardino added five. Mikka Cacho and Cheska Apag chipped in four and two points, respectively.

The Philippines will face Australia in the finals later at 8:40 p.m.

The men's team, meanwhile, fell to South Korea, 15-18, in the quarterfinals to end its run.
