Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women grouped with Olympic champion Germany, powerhouse China in FIBA 3x3 World Cup

The groups for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, set from June 1 to 7 in Warsaw, Poland, were determined on Wednesday, with the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women bracing for a tough challenge in their return to the world stage.

The Philippines has been drawn into Pool C alongside 2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist Germany, powerhouse China, as well as Italy and Latvia.

The Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women’s team secured its spot in the tournament through the qualifiers held last week, where it defeated Singapore in the knockout stage to clinch the final berth to the World Cup.

Just weeks earlier, the Philippines also captured a silver medal in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup.

The national women’s team last competed in the World Cup in 2018, when the Philippines hosted the tournament.
