PBA: Tyler Tio drills game-winning triple as Phoenix escapes TNT in OT

Tyler Tio knocked down a clutch triple to lift Phoenix past TNT, 100-97, in overtime of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Tio delivered the go-ahead basket after Bol Bol tied the game at 97. TNT had a final chance to force another extra period, but RR Pogoy missed his four-point attempt.

Bol also forced overtime, sinking a jumper with 25 seconds left in regulation as TNT squandered a 95-91 lead. In the extra period, Ricci Rivero sparked a crucial 6-0 run that turned a deficit into a 97-95 Phoenix advantage with 16 seconds remaining.

Rivero led the Fuel Masters with 31 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three steals. New import Johnathan Williams added 22 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and one steal.

Bol finished with 30 points, 20 rebounds, three blocks, and one assist, while Calvin Oftana chipped in 22 points, six rebounds, and one assist.

Phoenix improved to 6-4, while TNT dropped to a similar record.
