Filoil: Gilas Youth falls to UP; NU beats Adamson

Gilas Pilipinas Youth fell to the University of the Philippines, 92-74, to cap its initial run in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup on Thursday.

The Fighting Maroons dominated the first three quarters and built a 75-49 advantage entering the final period before Gilas Youth responded with a 25-17 fourth-quarter run. UP, however, still cruised to its third straight win in the preseason tournament.

Veejay Pre paced the Fighting Maroons with 11 points, while Jacob Bayla added 10.

Kyle Sardon led Gilas Youth with 20 points, while Ethan Aguas and Bruce Tubongbanua chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively. Chog Moral, meanwhile, finished with five points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Earlier, National University defeated Adamson University, 74-66.
