PBA: Meralco Bolts and TNT Tropang 5G

TNT and Meralco both made import switches ahead of Game 4 of their best-of-seven semifinals series in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup set for Wednesday.

The Tropang 5G formally tapped Chris McCullough while the Bolts secured the services of Patrick Gardner as the teams bid goodbye to Bol Bol and Marvin Jones, respectively.

TNT had to let go of the 7-foot-3 Bol after the American import sustained a partial Achilles tendon tear in Game 2 of the semis, which forced them to play with an all-Filipino lineup in Game 3.

Despite the shorthanded crew, TNT still pulled off a dramatic 77-75 win to regain the series lead with Rey Nambatac top-scoring with 18 and RR Pogoy draining the dagger triple late in the fourth.

Initially, TNT planned on tapping either natrualized import Malick Diouf, Marquese Chriss, or Darius Days.

Meanwhile, the Bolts are also tweaking their import with Gardner replacing Marvin Jones. The 6-foot-11 American-Egyptian center had several stints abroad, including stops in the Japan B. League and Egypt's national team.

Meralco is parting ways with Jones, who posted 22 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists in their Game 3 loss.
