Gilas Pilipinas Girls rout Thailand in FIBA U18 SEABA Qualifiers

The Gilas Pilipinas Girls notched their third straight victory in the FIBA U18 SEABA Qualifiers after routing Thailand, 86-48, on Thursday at the STI West Negros University Gym in Bacolod.

The Philippines came out firing, outscoring Thailand, 20-6, in the opening quarter before taking a 42-24 lead into halftime.

The Gilas Girls continued to dominate in the second half, unleashing a 25-9 run in the third quarter before cruising to the 38-point victory.

Lea Pinuela led the Philippines with 16 points, seven steals, five assists, and four rebounds, while Ruiza Jhane Olmos added 11 points.

Rhian Meshelle Perez, meanwhile, grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with six points, five assists, three steals, and three blocks.

Kanyapat Hookee and Paweetida Chanasimma each scored nine points for Thailand.

The Philippines will wrap up its campaign against Indonesia on Saturday.
