Gilas Pilipinas Girls complete sweep of FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers

The Gilas Pilipinas Girls completed a sweep of the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers after defeating Indonesia, 88-62, on Saturday in Bacolod City.

The Philippines came out firing, building a commanding 57-28 lead at halftime before stretching its advantage to as much as 34 points, 64-30, early in the third quarter.

Gilas then maintained control the rest of the way to secure the convincing victory.

Rhiane Perez led the charge for the Philippines with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal, while Sophia Dignadice contributed 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Joanne Giovanni paced Indonesia with 11 points, three rebounds, and a steal.

The Philippines had already secured a place in Division A of the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup after topping Division B during the 2024 edition of the tournament.

The FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Malaysia.
