Kieffer Alas dedicates Ateneo's upcoming UAAP Season to late teammates Baterbonia, Adili; fellow Blue Eagles pay tribute

Ateneo de Manila University rookie Kieffer Alas said the Blue Eagles are dedicating their campaign in the upcoming UAAP Season 89 to their late teammates Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.

The Ateneo on Monday announced Baterbonia and Adili’s passing due to drowning during a teambuilding activity in Aurora.

In an Instagram story, Alas wrote a message for his teammates.

“Kasama namin kayo sa bawat laro at laban. Para sa inyo ang season na ‘to. We love and miss you, Bet and D,” he wrote.

Other former Ateneo players also paid tribute to their fellow Blue Eagles.

“Fly high, Brothers,” Sean Quitevis wrote.

“Please pray for my brothers of the Ateneo team and the families of Divine and Rene. Gone way too soon,” Chris Koon wrote.

Kymani Ladi, meanwhile, posted a photo of him with Adili.

Adili suited up for the Katipunan-based squad in Season 88, while Baterbonia was supposed to play for the blue and white in Season 89.
