PBA: Ginebra's Justin Brownlee captures 4th Best Import award
For the fourth time in his PBA career, Justin Brownlee has been hailed as the Best Import.
The resident Barangay Ginebra foreign reinforcement took home the honors on Wednesday after helping the franchise reach the finals of the Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup.
Brownlee beat San Miguel’s Chris McCullough, Rain or Shine’s Jaylen Johnson, and Meralco's Patrick Gardner for the top recognition for imports.
The 38-year-old reinforcement collected a total of 1,264 points anchored on 593 statistical points, 560 media votes, and 111 player votes while Johnson was the closest challenger after he tallied 888 points built on 554 statistical points, 276 media votes, and 58 player votes.
Mccullough and Gardner, who both came in as late replacements for Marvin Jones and Bol Bol, respectively, posted 690 and 534 total points.
The feat marked Brownlee's fourth overall Best Import award after taking home the same honors in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup, 2021 Governors' Cup, and 2022-2023 Commissioner's Cup.
He also became the second most successful import in the league after Bobby Parks, who won seven Best Import awards.
