PBA: After challenging series, Finals MVP award just a bonus for Scottie Thompson

Scottie Thompson turned emotional after being named the Finals MVP of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup last Wednesday, receiving the Ramon Fernandez Trophy from the PBA Press Corps.

As it turned out, Thompson revealed that it had been a challenging series for him and the rest of Barangay Ginebra.

Ang sarap pakinggan na nadagdagan ng isa,” Thompson said as Barangay Ginebra defeated TNT in Game 7 to capture the crown.

Thompson averaged 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in the series as he captured his eighth PBA title and third Finals MVP award.

“I know I'm battling through pain at for me ito ‘yung napaka-special kasi ang daming ups and downs, ang daming struggle. But at the end of the day, we got the championship so all glory to God lang talaga.”
