FIBA, SBP reveal branding for 2027 Women's Asia Cup in Cebu
FIBA and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) on Thursday unveiled the branding for the 2027 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, which will be held in Cebu.
According to FIBA, the pink, blue, and yellow colors are inspired by Cebu City’s colors, “reflecting the sea, sky, and calm atmosphere while celebrating the spirit of a women’s tournament.”
The branding also features woven patterns as an element “inspired by the rich tradition of Filipino weaving.”
Meanwhile, the arcs are “reinterpreted as circular forms, creating a sense of movement and evoking the dynamic bounce of a basketball,” while the checkered design of the trophy base is inspired by the official seal of Cebu.
“The FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2027 provides a platform for the fans in the Philippines to witness the best of women’s basketball right in their own country and for the global fans to experience the passion for the sport in the Philippines,” said FIBA Asia President Dr. K. Govindaraj.
SBP president Ricky Vargas, meanwhile, said it is an honor for the country to host another Asian tournament.
“Bringing one of Asia's premier basketball events to the Philippines reflects the confidence that FIBA has in our ability to organize world-class competitions and in the passion of Filipino basketball fans,” said Vargas.
