PBA: Rain or Shine sends Gian Mamuyac to Phoenix for draft pick

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters have traded Gian Mamuyac to Phoenix in exchange for the Fuel Masters’ first-round pick in the PBA Season 53 Draft.

The league confirmed the trade on Thursday.

As part of the deal, Phoenix also acquired Rain or Shine’s second-round pick in the same draft.

Mamuyac’s contract was reportedly set to expire this month, and the trade comes just days after reports surfaced that he had been receiving offers to play overseas.

Mamuyac has been with the Elasto Painters since 2022 and was their team captain last conference.

In Phoenix, Mamuyac reunites with former Ateneo teammate Tyler Tio and joins a roster that includes Kai Ballungay, Ricci Rivero, Ken Tuffin, and Jason Perkins.
