Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women finish 8th in FIBA 3x3 W Series Batam leg

The Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women’s team placed eighth in the Batam leg of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series held from July 23 to 24 in Indonesia.

The team was composed of Sam Harada, Camille Malagar, Kaye Pingol, and Lee Sario.

The Philippines advanced to the main draw after posting victories over Vietnam, 21-11, and Slovakia, 16-15, in the qualifying round.

In the pool stage, Gilas fell to France, 21-9, before bouncing back with a 17-15 win over Japan to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

The Filipinas bowed out in the quarterfinals after a 15-11 loss, finishing eighth overall in the tournament.

The Philippines will next see action in the Tokyo leg of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series.
