PBA: Converge brings back Jamaal Franklin to replace import Jalen Hudson
Converge acted quickly following its first loss of the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup, bringing back a familiar face in Jamaal Franklin after a defeat to San Miguel last Wednesday.
The FiberXers have once again turned to Franklin, replacing Jalen Hudson, who averaged 12.25 points, 6.75 rebounds, 4.25 assists, and 2.25 steals in four games.
Hudson helped Converge to a 3-1 start before being let go.
Franklin isn't exactly a new face in the league. He reinforced Converge during the 2023 Governors' Cup, where the FiberXers ended the elimination round with a 6-5 record before losing to San Miguel in the quarterfinals to bow out of contention.
The 35-year-old Franklin will return to a much different Converge squad from the one he last played with, joining a local core headlined by Justin Arana, Justine Baltazar, Juan Gomez de Liaño, and Alec Stockton.
Converge, who also had import issues last conference, is expected to field Franklin in a heavyweight clash against defending champion TNT on Tuesday.
