Gardner College rules Indonesia's Cheng Hoo Cup

Gardner College swept the Cheng Hoo Cup International Basketball Tournament in Indonesia from July 5 to 11, capturing the under-25 championship with an unbeaten campaign.

The Knights capped their title run with a 79-73 victory over Spartan Renon Bali in the championship game, with Michael Romero leading the way to complete the team's perfect 5-0 record.

The Diliman-based squad opened the tournament with a 77-53 win over UCSI Malaysia before edging Indonesia's UKSW Salatiga, 56-55.

Gardner then escaped with a thrilling 96-94 victory against host team GMC Cirebon before closing out the elimination round with a commanding 92-59 rout of DKI Jakarta.

Head coach Mico Santos guided the Knights throughout their championship campaign.
