Strong Group falls to Korea in Jones Cup opener

Strong Group Pilipinas fell to Korea, 110-79, in its campaign opener in the 2026 Jones Cup on Friday in New Taipei City.

The Koreans got off to a strong start, taking a 28-15 lead after the first period before extending their advantage to 56-36 at halftime.

The Philippines continued to fight back in the second half, but Korea stood strong and eventually secured the victory.

Agee Tajuan led Strong Group with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Isaiah Piñeiro added 13 points and eight rebounds. Malick Diouf chipped in 10 points, while Boban Marjanovic was limited to six points and one rebound.

Strong Group will return to action on Saturday against Japan.
