Gilas Pilipinas beats Korea's Ulsan in friendly ahead of FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas defeated Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 81-76, in a friendly game held Thursday at the San Miguel Sports Facility as part of the national men’s basketball team’s preparations for the upcoming window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

For Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone, the game provided an indication of where the team stands with just days to go before the qualifiers.

“We didn't play well, but the game gave us a good indication of where we are and how far we have to go to get ready,” Cone said, according to a report by the PBA website.

The Philippines will face Jordan on August 28 and Iran on August 30.
