Despite the fact that his May 5 (May 6, PHL time) bout is against Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to take verbal shots at Sarangani congressman Manny Pacquiao, insinuating that “The Pac-Man” is a cheater and undeserving of a 50-50 split of a potential fight’s revenue.   Speaking to reporters Monday (Tuesday, PHL time) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mayweather said that he was “not a cheater like Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao,” chalking up his success to “Hard work. Hard work. Hard work.”   Margarito was caught using illegal hand wraps in 2009 against Shane Mosley and received a one-year ban.   Pacquiao on the other hand, has never failed a drug test, and in fact, has sued Mayweather for defamation over those allegations.   Drug testing has long been a sticking point that has prevented a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight from materializing, but Pacquiao last year agreed to the random, Olympic-level drug testing, as long as it was not done by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).   Then on Tuesday, (Wednesday, PHL time), at the Apollo Theater in New York, Mayweather was at it again, tackling the issue of the money split that caused negotiations between his camp and Pacquiao’s side last January. “If I offered him $30 million, he should be happy. If I offered him $30 million and I didn’t give money on the back end, why should I?” Mayweather said during a press conference there. “He’s with Arum right now and they’re having problems. It’s obvious he must not be getting money on the back end.   “Just by speaking to Pacquiao on the phone, I mean he’s not one of the sharpest knives in the drawer. I could tell that someone is in his ear telling him about 50-50. Basically saying you want 50-50, that’s like basically saying you don’t want to fight Floyd Mayweather. Because I’m going to let you guys know right now, he’s not getting 50-50. You face Floyd Mayweather, he’s not getting 50-50. No one is getting 50-50.” “The only way I think a fight the guy with three losses and I-don’t-know-how-many draws, the only way that fight happens is he has to leave Bob Arum,” Mayweather added.   The “Pambansang Kamao” has a record of 54 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.   Pacquiao earlier said that Mayweather offered him a flat $40 million and no share of the pay-per-view money. Through his adviser Michael Koncz, the Pacquiao’s side pushed back with an offer of $50 million guaranteed, with fight revenue being split 55-45 between the winner and loser, respectively.   Mayweather turned that offer down and went on to make the fight with Cotto. The boxer also known as “Money” asserted that he was not afraid of fighting Pacquiao, saying, “It’s so crazy, everyone is saying Floyd Mayweather is ducking Manny Pacquiao, he’s scared. If I’m scared and a coward, why do you guys want to see me fight. Because I don’t want to see a scared fighter or a coward. I know what it really is.” But when asked if he thought the two would ever go toe-to-toe in the ring, Mayweather simply said, “Absolutely not.” - Adrian Dy/OMD, GMA News
