Bradley: 'I won the fight without a doubt'
Minutes after his shocking win over Manny Pacquiao, Saturday (Sunday, PHL time) for the WBO welterweight title, a stunned Timothy Bradley told HBO's Max Kellerman in an in-ring interview that he needed to see the tape of his victory before giving his take. A little over 24 hours later, a more confident Bradley told Lem Satterfield of RingTV.com, "I won the fight without a doubt." The 28-year-old American broke down the 12 rounds against the Pacman as, "You could say I won the first round, give or take the second. Lost the third, lost the fourth, lost the fifth, maybe even lost the sixth, you know, give or take. "But from seven, eight, nine, 10, 11 and 12, I clearly dominated those rounds, man....I know I won those rounds." Judge CJ Ross, who scored the bout 115-113 in favor of Bradley, gave the challenger the second, fifth, seventh, eighth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth rounds, while the other judge that gave a 115-113 score for Bradley, Duane Ford, had him as the winner in the first, fifth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and twelfth rounds. "He [Pacquiao] was supposed to knock me out," Bradley said of his more accomplished foe. "But I took his best punches and I fought back hard. "It was not a controversial decision or nothing like that. It is what it is." Many fight fans have criticized the judges, with Bradley and Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum demanding an investigation into the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Bradley though, thinks they were spot on. "There were some close rounds in there that they probably gave to me, because like I said, I fought every minute of every damn round. "They were probably like, 'this dude [Pacquiao] is only fighting in the first half of the round or the last 30 seconds of a rounds [sic].' They probably caught on to that." Bradley also believes that injuries played a part in the split-decision. When the fight was over, he was forced to attend the post-match press conference in a wheelchair, due to injuries to his right ankle and left foot. "Let me tell you this," he said. "If I had both of my feet, from the second round on and the whole fight, then it would have been a completely different situation. You know, I couldn't be as mobile as I wanted to be." If the November rematch ever materializes, Bradley is confident that the second time will be a different matter, especially when the lower part of his body heals up. "This guy [Pacquiao] is a good fighter…but I made some mistakes in there. But toward the end I started figuring out what I've got to do. "I'm going to dominate Manny Pacquiao from first round on," Bradley swore. "I'm telling you man. I'm telling you." - AMD, GMA News
