(Updated 10:35am) Timothy Bradley denied telling his promoter Bob Arum that he couldn't beat Manny Pacquiao, prior to the announcement that he had defeated the Filipino ring icon during Saturday's (Sunday, PHL time) split-decision, the now-WBO welterweight champ said in an interview with BoxingScene.com. Arum told media outlets that when he went up to Bradley immediately after the twelfth round, but before the decision had been read, the California-native told his promoter, "I did my best. I just couldn't beat this guy." But when he was asked about it on The Boxing Lab audio show, Bradley denied ever saying that. "I never said that I didn't beat this guy. I just said I did my best. I wouldn't say that I couldn't beat him. "Why would I say that? Especially when I felt I won. My trainer told me right after the fight that I beat him," said Bradley. Top Rank broadcaster Brian Kenny backed up Bradley's denial, telling 670 The Score in Chicago that Bradley didn't look like a fighter who thought he had lost. "I know that's the popular story going around, that Bradley didn't think he won, and that he said this. It's not true. I saw Bradley, the way he reacted after the fight. After the fight ended, he jumped right up on the ropes and threw his fist in the air," said Kenny, who called the fight for Top Rank's international feed. "I thought, in my mind, he looked like a guy who thought he'd won the fight." A stunned Bradley initially didn't want to comment on the fight, telling HBO's Max Kellerman that he would need to see the tape of his victory first. 24 hours later, he would tell RingTV.com that he had won the fight "without a doubt." Despite that, the fighter known also as "Desert Storm" made sure to credit his opponent, saying, "I have been in the ring with faster guys but he is a great fighter. When he puts his punches together, all of his punches are solid. There aren't any weak punches. He is a lot smarter than I thought he was."
