Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather not only stands on top of the boxing world, he also looms large over the rest of his peers in the sports world, going by the size of his paycheck.

Mayweather, made it back-to-back years at number one on Sports Illustrated's Fortunate 50, an annual list that ranks American and US-based athletes based on their salary, winnings, bonuses and endorsements within the publication's specified timeframe.

The American boxer, who recently bested Robert Guerrero, is said to have made an estimated $90 million, $32 million alone coming from his win over Guerrero. That number reportedly "conservative," with SI noting that he could make as much as $128 million, based on the result of his next fight in September.

Second on the list is reigning NBA MVP LeBron James, with a $17.55 million salary, and $39 million worth of endorsements. NFL quarterback Drew Brees is next with a $40.0 million salary and $7.8 million in endorsements, followed by LA Laker Kobe Bryant ($46.85 million salary plus endorsements) and golf star Tiger Woods ($40.84 million salary plus endorsements).

Overall, the list sees 25 baseball players, 13 NBA players, eight NFL players, two golfers, one boxer and one NASCAR driver.

SI's international list on the other hand, is topped by Paris Saint Germain's David Beckham ($48.35 million), who snapped tennis icon Roger Federer's streak of four years at number one.

Federer ($43.42 million) had to settle for second place, followed by Ferarri racer Fernando Alonso ($42.0 million), Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo ($35.3 million) and his rival from FC Barcelona Lionel Messi ($35.1 million).

Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao is sixth by a hair with $35.0 million. The list does however point out that Pacquiao only fought once, a loss against Juan Manuel Marquez, in their measured period.

10 on the international list are footballers, with five tennis players, three Formula One racers, a boxer, and a golfer rounding out the mix. - AMD, GMA News
