‘Hurricane’ Julaton dispatches foe in Mexico

Ana ‘Hurricane’ Julaton improved to 13-4-1 with a majority decision win, Friday (Saturday, PHL time) over Mexican Perla Hernandez in Yucatan, Mexico, at the Auditorio Morelos.

Two judges had it for the Filipino-American Julaton, 97-93, 98-94, with the third scoring it as a draw, 95-95.

Hernandez was on the receiving end of a headbutt in the sixth round, which created a cut over Julaton’s right eye, but the latter managed to overcome the blow and pick up the win.

It is the first win of 2013 for Julaton, as she lost a unanimous decision to Celina Salazar, also of Mexico, last August. - AMD, GMA News
