Manny was not the only personality named Pacquiao who collected a new title after his win over Timothy Bradley Jr. on Sunday.

Pacquiao’s mother Dionisia got the title "Pambansang Daliri" from netizens after video clips of her during her Saturday’s (Sunday, PHL time) bout showed her gesturing with her fingers at the ring.

But the newly christened "Pambansang Daliri," whose previous titles include Pacmom and Mommy D, explained she was praying for her son's victory at the time the cameras caught her with her gesture - at least the one with the two fingers.

"Habang nagbabakbakan sila, nagpe-pray ako. Pinagdadasal ko na pabagsakin si Bradley," she said in an interview on dzBB radio.

In an interview aired on GMA News' Unang Balita early Monday, Dionisia said her son's chances of victory rested on her hands.

The elder Pacquiao had also prayed several times over the champ in preparation for his bout, GMA News' Katrina Son reported.

"Andiyan sa kamay ko ang anak ko, narito sa harap ko nakasalalay sa aking mga kamay," said the champ's mother, who also attracted attention when she was seen wearing a white Filipiniana dress, which she said was to show her pride in being a Filipina.

Meanwhile, Dionisia also expressed excitement that her son's family would soon have another member, as Manny’s wife Jinkee is due to give birth soon. - Joel Locsin / AMD, GMA News
