Oddsmakers see Manny Pacquiao as heavy favorite against Chris Algieri

 

 

When it comes to the tale of the tape, Chris Algieri's may have the advantage against Filipino fight icon Manny Pacquiao in terms of age, height, and reach. 

 

But for oddsmakers in the United States, Pacquiao still comes in as the heavy favorite for their November 22 bout in Macau.

 

The Pinoy fighter is pegged as a -1400 favorite for their matchup, according to initial odds. Algieri, on the other hand, is a +800 underdog.

 

This means that a bet of $1,400 on Pacquiao would earn $100 while a $100 gamble on Algieri would earn the bettor $800.

 

This is despite his undefeated record of 20-0-0 with eight knockouts.

 

Relatively unknown to many just two fights ago, Algieri won the Pacquiao sweepstakes after defeating heavily-favored Ruslan Provodnikov this past June for the WBO world light welterweight title.

 

The 30-year-old New York native stated that he plans to use every inch of his height and reach advantage against Pacquiao, hoping to replicate the same success he had when he fought Provodnikov.
