Undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri is eager to kick off the multi-city press tour for his November fight with Manny Pacquiao.
According to sources, the press tour will begin around the final week of August with the final list of stops still being organized by Bob Arum and Top Rank. Early reports indicated China, Macau, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco as the venues for the tour.
"I'm really looking forward to the press tour. For one I've never met Manny so I'm looking forward to meeting Manny," said Algieri in an interview with Boxingscene.com.
Like Pacquiao, Algieri is known as a gentleman outside the ring who does not talk trash to his opponent in an attempt to promote a fight. For this reason, Algieri expects nothing but a friendly press tour.
"He seems like a great guy and everyone I talked to said the same thing. I think we're gonna have a very cordial press tour," said Algieri.
"Very respectable and humble guy, I am as well so it should be fun. I think it's gonna do a lot of good for marketing this fight." — JST, GMA News
