American strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson is back in Cebu to work with Filipino WBO world light flyweight champion Donnie Nietes.
Curson was responsible for Nietes' tremendous shape when he stopped Moises of Fuentes of Mexico this past May.
"I arrived on the 21st (September), so I will have a total of eight weeks to train the guys," said Curson, who also trains Filipino fighters Milan Melindo and Albert Pagara.
"Donnie was in decent shape when I arrived. Obviously he's been recovering for a while after the last camp, so not in fighting shape but he stayed fit and lives a healthy lifestyle."
Curson also noted that Nietes is going through rigorous strength and conditioning training as they intend to improve from where they left of five months ago.
Nietes will aim to break Gabriel "Flash" Elorde's record of being the longest Filipino world champion (seven years) when he defends his title on November 15 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu. — JST, GMA News
