WBA world featherweight champion Nonito Donaire is primed and ready to face the hard-hitting Nicholas Walters this weekend, October 18 (October 19 PHL time) at Stubhub Center in Carson, California.

Donaire, who will defend his crown for the first time, spent two months in training camp with his father and trainer at the Donaire Sr. Boxing and Fitness gym in Oakland, California.

"Jun is ready," said Nonito Sr. "We've had a good training camp. He is both physically and mentally ready."

Nonito Sr. said this has been their best training camp yet since the father-and-son tandem decided to link up again two fights ago.

Though Nonito Sr. won't disclose their game plan and prediction, he promised that the fans will be in for a treat come fight night.

"All I can say is that this is a really good fight. Puncher versus boxer-puncher," Nonito Sr. added. — JST, GMA News
