Jessie Vargas' manager working to secure Pacquiao fight

WBA world light welterweight champion Jessie Vargas isn't running out of hope that he could possibly be up next for Manny Pacquiao.

Vargas, 25, holds an undefeated record of 26-0 with 9 knockouts.

"I really want the opportunity to fight Pacquiao and my manager is trying to make that fight happen," Vargas told Boxingscene.com.

"He is pursuing that fight because he knows that that's the fight I really want."

Over the past few months, Vargas has been mentioned several times in the past as a possible opponent for Pacquiao. After Pacquiao's dominant win over Algieri last November, a source also told this writer that Bob Arum had already lined up Vargas next for the Filipino.

With the long awaited showdown between Pacquiao and Mayweather still up in the air, it remains to be seen who's really next for the eight-division champion.
