This January, lineal world light flyweight champion Donnie Nietes broke Gabriel "Flash" Elorde's record as the longest reigning world champion in Philippine boxing history.
Three months later, Nietes, together with Nonito Donaire, were enshrined to the Elorde Hall of Fame joining 2008 inductee Manny Pacquiao.
Despite all the accolades and recognition, Nietes' promoter Michael Aldeguer described Donnie as a fighter who stays hungry and motivated.
After winning world titles in two weight divisions (105 and 108 pounds), Nietes still has a handful of goals in mind that he wants to accomplish.
"I want to have more title defenses and [fight] in more weight divisions. That's my dream," the 32-year-old Nietes told GMA News Online.
"I think two or three [more weight classes] siguro, pwede pa."
Nietes is slated to return inside the ring in July for a mandatory title defense against the no. 1 light flyweight contender Francisco Rodriguez Jr. of Mexico. - RAF, GMA News
