Sparring Session: Jaemark Tordecilla answers questions about #PacquiaoMayweather

With the highly-anticipated matchup between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather upon us, GMA News hosted Sparring Sessions, a series of Q&As on our Facebook page for users to discuss the mega-fight. In the second of the series, GMA News Online executive editor Jaemark Tordecilla discussed #PacquiaoMayweather.

Howie Severino: wouldn't it have been better for boxing and for Mayw himself if the odds were not stacked in his favor -- hometown venue, American ref, three American judges. It will create doubt over a close fight if he wins. This is why refs in most other international sports are third nationalities. Can't imagine a German or Argentinian ref in the World Cup final last year.

Jaemark Tordecilla: The funny thing about boxing is that the sport, or at least the people who run it, are not as concerned about fairness or propriety as those in other sports. They are more concerned about money, and having the fight in Las Vegas, under the auspices of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, makes the most financial sense.

Ederic Eder: Mas malaking tao si Mayweather kaysa kay Pacquiao. May bearing ba ito sa posibleng magiging resulta ng laban?

JT: Mas malaking factor sa tingin ko yung reach o ang haba ng galamay ni Mayweather. Posibleng mahirapan si Manny na lusubin ang depensa ni Floyd.

Caylene Canlas: Ano pong lamang ni Pacquiao kay Mayweather?

JT: Mas malakas sumuntok at mas mabilis gumalaw sa loob ng ring si Manny kontra kay Floyd.

GMA News: Kaya po ba ni Manny na i-KO si Mayweather?

JT: Siyempre kaya. Pero kailangan ng kakaibang sipag ni Manny para magawa ito dahil sa galing ng depensa ni Mayweather... Kailangan sa early rounds pa lang, atakihin na nang husto ni Pacquiao si Mayweather.

Ederic Eder: Ano kaya ang weak point ni Mayweather na puwedeng i-exploit nina Roach at Pacman?

JT: Hindi pa natatalo si Mayweather sa kaniyang professional boxing career, kaya wala talagang masasabing weak point niya. Pero sa kaniyang mga nakaraang laban, tila nahihirapan siya sa mga kaliweteng mabibilis -- kaya tingin ko papahirapan siya ni Manny Pacquiao.

Joelou Bering: Sa isang press interview. Sab ni mayweather si manny ay Recless na boxer kaya my chance na ma jackpot na K.O sya.. ang tanung myrun pa bang style si manny nitong paparating na laro sa may 2?

JT: Sa tingin ko, totoong naging reckless si Manny noon. Pero natuto na siya ng kaniyang leksyon nang ma-knockout siya ni Juan Manuel Marquez.

Alvys Minon: Feeling ko may factor ang age sa labang ito. Mas matanda kasi si Merryweather kay Pacman. Anong masasabi mo Jaemark Tordecilla.

JT: Puwedeng maging factor ang edad sa laban na ito. May mga nagsasabi na medyo nawalan na ng bilis si Mayweather sa mga huli niyang laban, lalo na kontra kay Maidana.

Elai Bensal: posible po bang mapatumba ni Manny si Floyd sa 9th round?

JT: Posible naman, pero kailangan maaga pa lang, gawin na ni Manny ang trabaho niya. Kailangan sa early rounds pa lang, atakihin na nang husto ni Pacquiao si Mayweather.
