(Updated 8:10 a.m.) Manny Pacquiao on Monday said he will undergo an MRI scan to see if he needs surgery to address his shoulder injury.
"Sumasakit na siya. Matagal na. Kaya nakakamiss na ako ng mga practice," Pacquiao told reporters in Las Vegas.
The boxing champ and Sarangani representative admitted his team decided not to inform the public about the injury.
"Ayaw ko na mag-alala sila," he said.
"Mag-MRI ako tapos made-determine kung ooperahan," Pacquiao said, adding the scan may be done as early as Tuesday.
Pacquiao also said it is not true that the Nevada State Athletic Commission did not know of his shoulder injury prior to his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Sunday for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title. Mayweather won the bout.
Pacquiao said they included the info in a pre-fight health checklist submitted to the commission. Francisco Aguilar, chairman of the commission, on Sunday said they only knew of Pacquiao's injury that night.

During his post-fight press conference on Sunday, Pacquiao said he wasn't able to do things he needed to do during the bout with Mayweather because of his injury.
He had his best moments in the fight in the fourth round, when he tagged Mayweather with a left straight that staggered the unbeaten American champion.
When asked why he wasn't able to follow through, he answered: "It was because my shoulder hurt."
Trainer Freddie Roach said the injury occurred after Pacquiao collided with another fighter during sparring and their arms got entangled.
