Manny Pacquiao disclosed on Monday morning (PHL time) that they weren't treated fairly before his mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
A News TV Live report said Pacquiao also admitted that his opponent resorted to dirty moves during the fight.
"Buti na lang may gloves, 'no?" he told reporters in Las Vegas. "Kung hindi, puro gasgas 'yung mukha ko."
Asked what he told Mayweather when the fight was happening, Pacquiao replied, "'Don't do that.' I said, 'Don't do that.'"
Mayweather defeated Pacquiao via unanimous decision in their fight for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title on Saturday (Sunday PHL time).
In the interview, aired live on Unang Hirit, Pacquiao said the Nevada State Athletic Commission did not allow him to have the injection to numb the pain on his injured shoulder, which he said was legal there.
They also barred his vitamins and even water into the dressing room, he added.
"Ang katuwiran nu'ng commission, hindi raw kami nag-fill up ng form, which is nasa record nila 'yung form na pinirmahan namin. Legal naman 'yon (the injection). Pero ewan ko ano 'yung explanation nila," he said.
He added: "I don't believe na nu'ng gabi lang nila nalaman 'yon. I'm sure two weeks before nalaman na nila 'yon dahil nag-leak 'yung balita na may injury ako sa training. Alam ko (na alam nila dahil) sa ginawa nilang pag-ipit sa dressing room... Sabihin ko talaga, sa ginawang pag-ipit ng commission sa dressing room, pati vitamins ko—regular vitamins lang—hindi pinapasok, pati 'yung tubig ko, hindi pinapasok... Ibig sabihin, alam talaga nila."
Pacquiao, however, clarified that they will not be filing complaints because of that.
"Ayoko nang pahabain na mag-complain pa. Tapos na 'yun, eh," he said. "Siyempre kinausap sila, pero matigas sila, ayaw. Kumbaga sabi ko na lang, 'Sige, okay lang.'"
Shoulder injury
During the interview, Pacquiao said they had thought of postponing the fight three weeks before, upon his doctor's advice that he should rest his injured shoulder for 30 to 40 days.
Eventually, however, they settled for not using his right arm in training for the remaining three weeks, then to have the injection to numb pain or discomfort.
"In fact, dala namin 'yung doktor ko galing sa LA, 'yung mag-i-inject. Dalawang doktor. And then pumunta sila doon, tapos nu'ng nandoon na kami sa dressing room, ayaw nilang (Commission) payagan na ma-injection," he said.
He added that they did keep news of his injury under wraps, saying he was mentioning it now but not to make a fuss out of it.
"Ayoko namang gawing malaking issue 'yung balikat ko kasi baka sabihin nagdahilan ako," he said. "Tinatago nga namin 'to, three weeks before the fight, 'yung mga balita na nag-skip kami ng training, na maaga naming pinauwi 'yung mga ka-sparring namin."
He said he will undergo another MRI scan to see if he needs surgery to address the tear on his right shoulder.
"Bukas ipa-MRI 'to," he said. "Punit siya. Three weeks ago, before the fight, pina-MRI ko, may punit siya. Patingnan ko, baka nag-worsen."
He added: "Masakit kapag walang pang-numb. Makirot... Nu'ng sa umpisa, nu'ng nagwa-warm up kami, naisusuntok-suntok ko, pero hindi 100 percent. Mga 50 to 60 percent lang. Kaya ko pa 'yung kirot. Pero nu'ng fight na, after three rounds, ayon na. Masakit. Kaya kung maaalala niyo, may round doon na nag-combination ako tapos umatras ako."
Pacquiao first revealed his injury at the post-fight press conference on Sunday, saying he wasn't able to do things he needed to do because of it.
Trainer Freddie Roach said the injury occurred after Pacquiao collided with another fighter during sparring and their arms got entangled. —Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/KG, GMA News
