Misamis Oriental native Milan Melindo is primed for his second world title attempt when he battles Javier Mendoza for the IBF world light flyweight title this Saturday (Sunday PHL time) at Camp Nuevo Ensenada in Baja California, Mexico.

The 27-year-old Melindo (32-1, 12KOs) who had his training camp in Freddie Roach's famed Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, is the no. 1 rated light flyweight by the IBF, making him the mandatory challenger to Mendoza's strap.

"Milan doubled his determination and dedication in training for this fight," Melindo's trainer Edito Villamor told GMA News Online.

"He did over a hundred rounds of sparring here at the Wild Card Gym. We can say that Milan is ready for this fight."

Mendoza (23-2-1, 19KOs) is riding a ten-fight win streak, beating nine of his last 10 opponents by stoppage. While the Mexican has looked unstoppable since 2011, Villamor sees flaws in his game that the crafty Melindo can exploit come fight night.

"Milan needs to be impressive every round and use his skills the entire fight. We saw flaws in his game that we can use against him during the fight," said Villamor. - RAF, GMA News
