American four-division world champion Adrien Broner has revealed that Manny Pacquiao's camp had reached out to him for a possible fight next year.

Broner, 26, told a group of reporters that Pacquiao's adviser, Michael Koncz, personally reached out to him to discuss a possible matchup.

"I hear they want me to fight Pacquiao next. Michael Koncz actually called me," said Broner.

Pacquiao is looking to feature in a farewell fight in the first quarter of 2016 before finally calling it a day in professional boxing. Besides Broner, Timothy Bradley and world light welterweight champion Terence Crawford are also included in the Pacquiao sweepstakes.

Known as a notorious trash talker, Broner was rather kind with his words towards Pacquiao, though he made it clear that he intends to defeat the Filipino ring icon should he land the fight.

"He’s a great guy (Pacquiao). It would be a hell of a fight, a young rising star against an elite Hall of Famer on his way out," says Broner.

"I can’t wait to send him home to the Philippines to go be governor." —JM Siasat/JST, GMA News
