Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao called on his fans to give Juan Manuel Marquez his due credit for knocking him out in their last encounter in 2012.
Pacquiao and Marquez shared the same ring four times in their legendary career. Both fighters settled for a draw in their first bout in 2004, but Pacquiao managed to pull a razor thin victory in their second and third fight.
Marquez, now 42, has repeatedly turned down the idea of fighting Pacquiao for a fifth time, citing satisfaction with how his rivalry with the Filipino had ended.
Pacquiao, for his part, feels that Marquez should be left alone and not be forced into getting him in the ring once more.
"It’s ok," answered Pacquiao when asked about not being able to fight his Mexican rival for a fifth time. "Let him enjoy what he did to me. Give him credit."
Pacquiao's Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach also feels that Pacquiao and Marquez won't get to fight each other again, saying how content the Mexican is with the last outcome.
"He likes the way that last one ended I think, too much," Roach quipped. — APG, GMA News
