Pacquiao not in talks to sign with Under Armour —US report

After Nike severed its connection with Manny Pacquiao over controversial comments about gay marriage, the Filipino ring icon was recently spotted wearing a pair of Under Armour shoes for a pickup basketball game.

That has led to fans wondering whether the fighter will be signing a deal with the rival sneaker brand.

A report by the Baltimore Sun, however, doused cold water on that speculation.

"Under Armour isn't in talks with Pacquiao, according to a source familiar with the situation," reported Jeff Barker.

Under Armour's corporate headquarters are located in Baltimore.

Pacquiao's relationship with Nike ended after the sports apparel giant terminated their sponsorship deal following the fighter's comments comparing gay people to animals. Pacquiao has since apologized for the analogy, but Nike still blasted his remarks as "abhorrent." —JST, GMA News
