John Riel Casimero becomes newest Pinoy world boxing champ

John Riel Casimero became the newest world boxing champion from the Philippines after scoring a sensational knockout over Amnat Ruenroeng of Thailand to snatch the IBF world flyweight title on Wednesday night in China.

The victory made Casimero a two-division world champion, improving his record to 22-3 with 14 knockouts while Ruenroeng tasted his first defeat dropping his record to 17-1 with 5 knockouts.
