Senator Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday started his light training for his November fight against WBO Welterweight Champion Jessie Vargas.

A report from Mav Gonzales on "Unang Balita" showed Pacquiao preparing for his come back fight past 7 a.m. with a three-lap jogging with some members of "Team Pacquiao" around an exclusive village in Makati City.

The eight-division world champion also performed a few rounds of shadow boxing and core exercises.

Pacquaio's camp said his training schedule would not interfere with his job as a senator since his training would be done in the morning.

He attended and asked questions during the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights probe on extrajudicial killings.

The report said Pacquiao will undergo most of his training against the American boxer in the Philippines so he could perform his senatorial duties.

Pacquiao, 37, announced his retirement last April 2015 after winning his lopsided bout against another American boxer, Timothy Bradley, as he planned to focus on his senatorial bid.

The former Sarangani province representative won in the May elections by almost 16,000,000 votes.

Last August 10, Pacquiao said that he was coming out of retirement to fight Vargas on November 5 for the WBO welterwight belt.

"Yes, the fight is on. I have agreed to a November 5 fight with reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas," Pacquiao said in a statement.

"Boxing is my passion. I miss what I’d been doing inside the gym and atop the ring," he added. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/NB, GMA News
