GenSan residents give Pacquiao a hero’s welcome

Senator Manny Pacquiao was given a hero's welcome Friday upon his return home to General Santos City after winning the WBO welterweight title in Las Vegas.

A report by Mark Zambrano in Balitanghali on Friday said that this is Pacquiao's first trip to his hometown after his victory in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The boxing icon scored a decision victory over American boxer Jessie Vargas.

Pacquiao was greeted with a red carpet welcome at the airport and immediately started the motorcade.

He was warmly welcomed by the crowd as he rounded the streets of GenSan.

During a press conference, Pacquiao praised God for his success both in boxing and politics.
