Pacquiao now in Kuala Lumpur ahead of fight with Matthysse
Boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the rest of Team Pacquiao and his entourage on Monday evening, a week ahead of his bout against WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse.
According to a report by Mav Gonzales on Tuesday on Unang Balita, Pacquiao left General Santos City with a party of 200 persons on a chartered flight.
Coach Buboy Fernandez heads Team Pacquiao. Fernandez also ran Pacquiao's training camp as his head trainer.
The fighting senator on Monday said he is satisfied with his two-month training.
With Pacquiao is his father Rosalio, who said he was "immune" to nerves from watching fights by his son. Rosalio advised his son to fight against overconfidence.
Pacquiao's father also brought with him Alex, the senator's seven-year-old brother, who will watch the fight from their hotel.
President Rodrigo Duterte will watch the senator's fight as part of his trip to meet Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
The Pacquiao-Matthysse fight will be held on Sunday, July 15, at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and can be viewed on GMA 7. —Rie Takumi/KG, GMA News
