CompuBox stats show how Pacquiao dominated Matthysse

Manny Pacquiao displayed dominant form on Sunday in his seventh-round technical knockout victory over Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It was Pacquiao's first stoppage win since 2009.

Pacquiao threw a total of 344 punches, landing 95, against 246 punches thrown and 57 landed for Matthysse.

The two fighters had about the same amount of jabs thrown (Pacquiao 163, Matthysse 155) and landed (Pacquiao 16, Matthysse 21).

But Pacquiao made his hay with power punches, which made up 44 percent of his total output compared to 27 percent to Matthysse.

Pacquiao threw 181 power punches, landing 79, while Matthysse threw just 131, landing 36.

Pacquiao scored a total of three knockdowns in the fight: the first off a combination in the third round, the second when Matthysse took to his knee in the fifth round, and the third after a bevy of combinations in the seventh round that ended the fight. —JST, GMA News
