Pacquiao open for rematch if Mayweather comes out of retirement
Filipino boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao is not discounting the possibility that he and Floyd Mayweather might square off again in the boxing ring if ever the latter decides to come out of retirement.
"Kung mag-announce na bumalik siya sa boxing, may possibility na mag-rematch kami," Pacquiao said in a radio dwIZ interview.
If ever his clash with Mayweather happens again, the senator said it will likely be held in Macau.
Pacquiao's team has yet to decide who his next opponent would be, as he is currently busy at the Senate. A rematch with Jeff Horn, however, is already unlikely, according to the senator.
Horn defeated Pacquiao in a controversial fashion to claim the WBO world welterweight championship in Brisbane back in July 2017.
Pacquiao had just emerged victorious in his match against Argentinian Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia last month, becoming the WBA welterweight champion.
"Talagang seryoso ang focus. 'Yung exercise na ginawa natin noon binalik natin," he said.
The boxing champion assured his fans that he is in good health, and only needs check-ups from time to time.
"Boxing is my passion," Pacquiao added. — MDM, GMA News
